The Music Room is a virtual instrument designed for HALion 6 or later, including the free HALion Sonic SE 3.5 (or later) and the newly released HALion Sonic 7 from Steinberg. It is a sample library that offers 30 presets covering Piano, Strings, and a fully-fledged Synthesizer. The idea behind The Music Room was to create a virtual instrument that would cater to soundtrack composers and modern songwriters, providing them with a sound ready to use without needing to go through a complex setup process.
We recorded a Yamaha CF-III Piano with three different microphone perspectives (Close high, Close low, Room far, and Room near), allowing you to customize the sound to your liking. The Piano focuses on the low dynamic range to provide a more delicate sound, complete with pedal-on and pedal-off samples. The user interface (UI) has been designed to give you full control over the sound with various filters, velocity curves, and reverb/delay options. It also features a full-fledged arpeggiator.
Presets:
The strings presets, recorded with a string trio (violin, viola, and cello), are perfect for adding emotion and texture to your compositions. With four microphone perspectives, the presets include pizzicatos, major and minor chords in different articulations, and two bonus presets - Epiphany Violins and The Strings - that range from G3 to C7. The different articulations, such as short sustains, marcatos, and 16th note phrases, offer a range of options for layering strings in your compositions.
Presets:
The Music Room is packed with a fully-fledged synthesizer, perfect for creating modern and hybrid sounds. With three oscillators and five presets - synth bass, synth pizz, synth strings, synth pad, and synth android - the presets offer infinite sound possibilities. The different controls, including filter, cut-off, and resonance, as well as the amp and filter envelopes and ring oscillator, allow you to shape and sculpt the sound to your liking.
Presets:
Piano presets, Pizzicatos and Synth pizzicatos have an arpeggiator with plenty of phrases to fuel your creativity. You can also make your own arp phrases. Check HALion manual for more info on the arpeggiator.

All presets have reverb and delay included with plenty of controls to sculpt your sound.
One of the most significant advantages of The Music Room is that it can be used as a standalone virtual instrument or as a plugin for your DAW right away without the need to purchase additional software to access all its features. This makes it incredibly versatile and convenient, allowing you to use it in the best way for you. Additionally, all demos were created exclusively using The Music Room presets. This means you can be confident that the sound you are getting is high quality and has not been blended with other sample libraries or virtual instruments.
Another benefit of The Music Room is that it is incredibly user-friendly. The UI has been designed to make accessing all the different features easy without navigating through complicated menus or options. This makes it an excellent choice for beginners just starting with virtual instruments.
The Music Room is an excellent choice for composers and songwriters looking for a virtual instrument to provide them with an intimate and cinematic sound. Its versatility and ease of usage of use-quality preset make it a must-have for any music producer.
